Christmas 2005

All six of us had a wonderful week together in Orlando, FL, at a timeshare. Devin and I drove down the day before Christmas, and the other four came down late Christmas day. They didn't arrive until exactly midnight, and wouldn't hear about waiting till morning to open presents! By the time they were all opened, and the condo cleaned up, it was 2:00 am! But it was great fun. None of us had a particular desire to be around home this year, our first Christmas without Carol. And yes, there were some sad times while we were there, but largely, we had great fun and a wonderful week together. I can't quite express the delight in seeing my kids, and the ones that two of them have been given by the Lord for life, interacting as adults and completely enjoying each other. Carol would have been so thrilled...But while we were remembering His birth, she was right there with Him. It puts it all into perspective.
